Didcot Town development bowed out of the Marsh Challenge Cup after losing 2-0 to Clanfield 85.
Didcot more than held their own against the play-off chasing Division One side with Alfie Rouse going close to giving the railwaymen the lead halfway through the first half.
Clanfield went ahead just before half time but Didcot almost went in level at the break, with Freddie Copping going close.
The visitors booked their place in the next round with just over ten minutes remaining and any hopes Didcot had of a late comeback were ended soon afterwards when they were reduced to ten-men.
Second half substitute John Hedges saw red after picking up his second yellow card of the game.
One plus from the game, was another one of the highly regarded under 16s, Austin Crutchley, coming on to make his debut in the final five minutes.
